THE Artists

Hitch

Reflecting on my musical path, it’s surreal to think it all started over three decades ago in 1992 when I was just 13. Living on the estate, I was inspired by the older crowd who introduced me to the vibrant world of drum and bass during the crossover between hardcore and jungle.

Listening to legendary DJs like Doctor S and Andy C ignited my passion, and those unforgettable nights at The End club fostered a deep sense of community and connection. My DJ journey began at just 13, spending countless hours in record shops like Lucky Spin, fueling my obsession with vinyl.

At 18, I embraced radio, diving into both drum and bass and garage, and now, as I embark on this new chapter, I’m thrilled to announce Vibez Connection! Every weekend, my friends and I gather to create something unique and vibrant.

This journey has never been about fame—it’s about the vibez! Witnessing the joy on people's faces is the ultimate reward. Join me as we explore and celebrate the extraordinary world of drum and bass together. Here’s to the past, present, and an exciting future! Let’s keep the vibez alive!

Jason G

As I reflect on my musical journey, I am filled with nostalgia for those early days when I discovered my love for jungle music at just 14 years old. My brother, DJ XL, was a significant influence, sharing the thrills of pirate radio and club culture, which inspired me deeply. Growing up, I admired the electrifying performances of DJs like Brockie and MC legends like Skibbadee.

My beginnings as DJ Spindal in local youth clubs ignited my passion for mixing and entertaining. However, in 1998, I found a new love in house and garage music, while still holding onto my roots in drum and bass.

About six years ago, a friend, DJ Hitch, reignited my passion for DnB through our project, Vibez Connection. I was amazed to discover how the genre had evolved, and I fell in love once more with its depth and energy.

Now, as Jayson G, I'm fully immersed in the DnB scene, grateful for the journey that has shaped me. Thank you to everyone who has supported me along the way—here's to many more musical adventures ahead!

I wanted to take a moment to reflect on my musical journey, which began when I was just eight years old. It’s amazing how certain sounds can shape us. For me, that spark came from jungle and drum & bass music, thanks to my older brother.

Our home often resonated with the booming beats from pirate radio stations like Don FM, Juice FM, and Kool FM, creating a vibrant atmosphere that fueled my passion. Watching people create music on rooftops ignited my curiosity about the scene surrounding me.

In my childhood neighborhood, it felt like everyone was either a DJ or an MC, inspiring me to dive in. When I got my first pair of KAM decks, my journey into mixing and production began. I frequented youth clubs with Technics 1200 turntables, borrowing records and spending hours experimenting. Each mix taught me valuable lessons and paved my path as a DJ.

Over the years, my love for music expanded to house, garage, hip hop, R&B, and pop, thanks to my sister’s influence. Jungle and drum & bass remain at my core, embodying a vibrant subculture that has shaped my identity.

I’m grateful for the memories and friendships music has brought me and eager to continue exploring and sharing new sounds!

Chef Da Pavement Poet

From an early age, I developed a deep love for music. Growing up, my parents and grandparents enjoyed a mix of reggae, calypso, soca, and popular music.

My enjoyment of music spans across genres and generations, from global icons like Bob Marley and Michael Jackson to legendary dancehall artists such as Buju Banton and Shabba Ranks. Infamous rappers like Ice Cube, Snoop Dogg, Tu Pac Nas, Busta Rhymes, Wu-Tang Clan, Mobb Deep, Redman, Biggie Smalls and Styles P have also played a major role in shaping my enjoyment of rapping and lyricism.

Additionally, I draw inspiration from the pioneers of jungle and UK garage, including Brockie & MC Det, MC Skibadee, DJ EZ, MC Creed, and MC DT

The influence of hip-hop and the UK underground dance scene profoundly shaped my lyrical style and artistic identity as Chef Da Pavement Poet.
